Okay, so everyone in my company got sent home right after lunch today because of the nasty snowstorm.  We got about three inches of snow in just over the first hour.  Fortunately, I have a dependable car, snow tires, and common sense to guide me home safely... although one can never be too careful because of some idiots on the same road.

On my way home there were few speeders sliding from one side of the road to another.  Then, while plowing snow on my driveway, dozens of vehicles got stuck half way up the hill on my street and one by one backed down.  Some idiots seemed to believe that if they go really fast they can go around those that are stuck, bypass that half foot of snow and plow their way to the top.

Just a minute ago, a semi-truck got stuck and then came down in reverse while holding traffic from both sides of the street.  One tiny car came up fast and furious style and ended up stuck on the opposite side of traffic.  Another driver in a SUV insisted for several minutes, but failed to even go half way up.  Many of my neighbors must be delighted to find their front lawns with deep tire marks after this storm passes.

With that being said, there’s at least a foot (30cm) of snow outside and I’m taking my pack of Huskies out to the neighborhood park for a run!

Be cool and drive safe!
:)

It also amazes me how ridiculous people can be-without thinking carefully, while driving on icy roads and not thinking about other people driving on the road, while they are using precaution, or not even thinking about their own loved ones in the car with them.

Years ago, Big Spring, Texas lost a two year old citizen that's family was going to Lubbock on a snowy day and kept passing her around in the car, WITHOUT putting her a baby seat. A truck hit them head on and the little girl was instantly tossed out of the window. Both of my aunt Rhea and I saw parts of the family's car. While the two year old was in the hospital, she died of a lacerated kidney. =(
