Thank you and wish you all a Happy Easter weekend!

BTW, I got a subscription from someone... please let me know who you are!  :)

~ F. A. Q. ~
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- Could I use your photo(s) as a reference for drawing/painting?
- Yes, be my guest and please send me a link to your finished work.

- Can I have permission to use your photos for manipulation work?
- No.

- Are these your Siberian Husky dogs/puppies?
- Yes, all the dogs are mine and the pups are their litters.

- Are you a breeder?
- Yes, we get a new litter of puppies every 12 to 18 months and place them in new homes.

- How many Siberian Huskies do you have?
- Sasha (F), Vassi (M), Mischa (F), and Dasha (F).

- Are Siberian Huskies easy to train?
- No, Siberian Huskies are highly intelligent but they are also very stubborn so an owner/trainer must spend a lot of time working with them.

- Are Siberian Huskies aggressive by nature?
- No, they usually have excellent temperament and disposition.  A breeding pair with such desirable qualities will natually produce litters with similar temperament.

- Do they get along with other dogs?
- Yes, Siberian Huskies thrive when they live with other dogs around... like wolves, they are pack animals and do well with company even when the other dogs are not of the same breed.  Show your love and they'll respect you back.

- Do they get along with cats or other smaller pets?
- That depends on each individual dog.  Usually they will get along with cats if introduced to them at early age.  However, a mature Siberian Husky may not tolerate strange cats or smaller pets.  As always, close supervision is required when having two strange pets interacting with each other for the first time.

- What cameras do you use to photograph your dogs?
- They are all Canon digitals: 1D Mark III, 40D, 30D, Rebel XT, Powershot Pro1, and Elph S100.

- Why do you have watermarks on your images?
- All my photographs are copyrighted and may not be reproduced.

How rare is it to find a husky with 'bi-colored' eyes?
And are they friendly with small children/babies? (for future reference)
Also, is it generally better to have two huskies to keep each other company? Or can you just have one?

Finding a husky with bi or parti- eyes isn't difficult. We get them all the time at my shelter.

Huskies are typically gentle and do well with kids but as the owner, you need to be vigilent. No dog should ever be left alone with a child. Ever. You also need to properly socialize your dog to children, and teach them proper manners.

Having two dogs is great, and huskies do well with canine companions, however, I wouldn't get another dog just so your dog has a playmate. Get another dog because YOU want the dog. They can do just as fine on their own. Also, if you do get a second dog, do not buy your pups in pairs and do not buy from ANYONE who sells puppies in pairs. You should have your dog for atleast a year before you get a second dog, preferably. This gives you the time to bond with, train, and put the time forth to properly socialize your first pup. If you are truly interested in getting a husky, I suggest going to a rescue or shelter for your first dog.

Bless you for saying to go to a shelter first. I can't get an answer if this deviant member even does anything with her dogs other than letting them procreate.

Hello! You have GORGEOUS dogs, and I was wondering if you could help. I have a similar one myself, [link] , but don't know for sure if she's a husky or mix of some sort. If you have any ideas, I'd love to hear them. We got her as a puppy, she was stray, so we never did find out if she was a malamute or husky.

An average Siberian Husky would be between 45 to 55 pounds, some larger males may be up to 65. Malamutes could often be twice their size. It's really hard to say based on your photo, but I'd guess that your dog is part Husky from the markings and shape of head. :)

Thanks! We were so concerned about her weight. Our german shepherd is overweight at 105 lbs, but Dakota was always very skinny. We even tried to offer her more food because we thought our other dog was just hording her dry food. It's nice to know she's at her normal weight. What a relief!

Make sure you do some research about this breed before you bring one home. Many new owners make the common mistake of purchasing a puppy or dog based on their looks rather than temperament and behavior. You can read more about Siberian Huskies here: [link] Hope this helps.

I live in South EAST Florida. I too would like to know if it's a good idea to have a husky in an area like this?

Considering summers can get very hot I figure it's not such a big deal if the dog stays inside. *shrugs*

All I know is that Huskies are my favorite dogs so if I have to move to have one well I might just consider it. :p

i know that i could keep it inside when it's hot, but it's hot all year round practically, and i think that would be unfair to the dog. i would love to have a huskie, since my fiance will be working nights and we're moving to a different city in a few months, and i'd be home alone with the baby at night. i get really scared when i'm alone..

Well it's been pretty cool down here for the past few months. However the heat is just around the corner.

Where are you moving to? If you don't mind my asking. :)

You can read more about this particular breed here: [link] It will help you understand the breed and its needs. If you believe their profile fits your personal lifestyle and you can provide them with what they need to thrive, then check out your local newspaper for breeders or contact any humane society to find out if they have any for adoption. We do not have any available pups at the moment, but will make an announcement when we get a new litter.

I've gotta agree... most byb's are only interested in how much money they can make, not the dogs. I've met a couple that could learn something from the FAQ at the top of the page.

Check out the Siberian Husky Club of America's site [link] . They have info on the breed, what to look for in a breeder (with a list of referrals), and links to rescue orgs.

Most rescue orgs will test the temperament of the dogs, including how they are with kids and/or small animals.

No offense meant to Sooper-Husky... looks like he has a great crew! How DO you get those incredible pics?!?!?

Congrats!

I've noticed that Tatsuya is very stubborn. If you make him do something he doesn't want to do he cries like you're killing him.

We keep him in a very large kennel in our garage at night with our 5month old (almost 6months) Boxer and our 4 month old mutt. Even though he's around other dogs he hates to be in there and cries all day until I let him out in the mornings, at lunch I let him run around the back yard for around a hour, and when I get home in the evening he runs around most of the evening until he comes to the door.

I called my breeder about training tips for him, but they couldn't really help me much because their stud won't even let them pet him most of the time .

I try and train him like I did my boxer. But Tatsuya seems to just want to do his thing and not what we want him to do. Though we have successfully house broke him. ^.^

I'd like to know any tips you have!

Grats! Don't you just love it when that 'random deviant' button ends up giving you favs watches and pageviews? =P

Lol to question #8 of your FAQ, my mom forbids me to get a Husky, because she thinks they are anti-social or something. And now she has a reason to keep us from getting a dog period, cause one of my sisters has been diagnosed as allergic to dogs =(...funny, we used to own a Black Labrador, and her allergy conditions her improving during that time period. O_o

(Sorry for ranting if that bothered you for some reason. :P)
